No fuel pump ground on pin 37.

Jean; tale of 2 MS units. Both, let's call them A(old unit) & B(new unit) work perfectly connected to the JimStim and Tuner Studio, FP lamp momentarily lights when units are powered and stays on when RPM signal is applied. When unit A is connected to the cable in the car, everything works on the FP ...

testing the 2wire PWM idle valve.

Is there a way to use the J/S to test the idle valve?? A detailed hookup would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Test question.

Have wired and programmed JS11 in Tuner Studio for fan control, setting on and off temperature values. Assigned output pin is 31, IAC2B. If I vary the CLT pot. above and below those temp values, as displayed on T/S, will I see a ground signal on/off on pin 31 or is this asking something the J/S can'...

No D14 flash.

I'm sure this is just something I'm not understanding. Both the inj LED's on the JimStim light and flash and the frquency can be varied by the RPM pot. The signal shows up on Tuner Studio which is set to alternating but nothing happens to LED D14 on the M/S. I thought it should flash in synch with t...

Re: Peak and hold for 6 cyl.'s.

Jean. Thanks for responding. Unit is MSII extra, injectors are low impedance, 2.4 ohms, was hoping there was an add on board so I did not have to modify the MSII motherboard but finally realized it cannot be modified to 3, semi-sequential, PWM outputs, it's 2 or full sequential. Looks like I will le...

Peak and hold for 6 cyl.'s.

Finally ready for step 2 of my MS conversion on my 75' Mercedes inline 6, step 1 was EDIS. Was planning to keep the stock injection pattern of 2 groups of 3 until I read a Toyota tech article claiming 3 groups of 2 to be more efficient. Lots of articles about adding more injector pulses to 4 and 8 c...

coil negative to EDIS.

Making the switch to EDIS but wish to keep my stock tach that requires a high votage signal Wired the MSII per section 3.5.5, setting up for a high voltage tach, using JS0 input and SPR3 output. My question is, can I jumper the JimStim in some manner to test this circuitry through Tuner Studio or wi...

Re: MAF signal.

So, if I set the JimStim for EDIS I lose my RPM signal, set to 36-1, signal comes back. What should the "spark mode" setting in Tuner Studio be??
I'm using "toothed wheel" as there is no EDIS ID. Is EDIS identified by a different designation?? Many thanks for your patience.

MAF signal.

Jumpered the spare pot in JS to SP4 to test the MAF connections (my MS2 is wired for MAF) and programmed Tuner Studio for MAF. I can see and adjust the signal in TS with the pot but as soon as I open it the RPM gauge, WUE and ASE off lights go nuts, needle bouncing, flashing on and off. Is this norm...

Re: No tach signal on Tuner Studio.

Finally have time to get back to this project. Think my problem is Q1, have 15+ ohms across the collector and emitter with nothing turned on.
Can I put a ZTX450-ND transistor (NPN, 45V, 1000ma) that I have on hand in it's place for a quick check without damaging anything??
Thanks.

Re: No tach signal on Tuner Studio.

Back again. Still no tach signal from the primary tach. Works perfect if I jumper the second trigger to pin 24, put 12V pullup on secondary and turn on dip switch 3. Also when performing the tach test the LED for the primary is considerably dimmer than the LED for the 2nd trigger. Any testing shortc...

Re: No tach signal on Tuner Studio.

Thanks Jean, I think I may have found my problem. My 12V transformer was putting out 20V, 16.5V were appearing on the 12V pins.
Have I done any permanent damage?? Thanks.

No tach signal on Tuner Studio.

The JS passes all the tests including tach signal but no tach signal gets to tuner studio.
What sort of signal should I see at pin 24 on my Scope so I can at least eliminate the JS.
I am assuming it's a square wave, 12V about 15-20Hz. Any info appreciated.

Again thanks. Have been posting these same questions on the MS sites with 0 results.
Really enjoyed putting the JimStim kit together (from DIY) your assembly instructions are great.
Wish I could say the same for MS.
