Re: TinyIOx

Actually, I was able to reproduce this error here and that seems to be a bug in the MS2/Extra code. You will need to post this on the msextra forum so that this can be fixed.

Re: TinyIOx

Marc, You will need to set these things on the TIOx: io_settings_rcservo.png port_settings_rcservo.png And on the MS2 you will need to set the CAN parameters and the Boost settings. I have not changed any of the boost settings differently from the defaults from your msq except for what is needed to ...

Re: TinyIOx

I would need to see your TIOx msq also. Are you currently using one or both of the PWM outputs (TPM2CH0, TPM2CH1)? If not, you can use them to drive an RC servo and you can use that with the boost control on the MS2. Once I have the information, I can then go into the details of how to set this. It ...

Re: I think I might have screwed up my TinyIOx

Ted, If this is just a problem with the memory content being corrupted you should be able to recover. If there was a voltage spike due to the wiring then that may be fatal. To recover, you just need to short the 2 pad of the bootloader header with the power off and then power up the unit. This will ...

Re: TinyIOx

Marc, You would need to move your boost control from a pin on the Megasquirt to a pin on the TIOx. This can be done on the MS2 (and other MS2-based ECUs). If that's what you have, please post your msq for the MS2 and the TIOx and I can elaborate. It involves using one of the CAN ports as a PWM outpu...

Re: TinyIOx

Marc,

It's no longer available. But with a TinyIOx, you should not need one since you can have pretty much any PWM frequency.

Can I assume if the vr is wired to go positive as a tooth approaches then ignition input capture is falling edge? (Out1 to irq1)
Yes.

Re: Dual VR V2.1

I would like to confirm some information. + - polarity on a vr sensor, Is it correct when a metallic object approaches a vr sensor the voltage goes positive and then crosses to negative when the object goes away if wired correctly. My other question is on setting ignition input is it "falling edge"...

The only CAN value available is RPM which was also available in the previous version.

Re: Flickering Tach when testing the tach signal

If your voltage drops that much you need to check if anything gets hot and perform the 2nd and 3rd tests here: http://jbperf.com/JimStim/JimStim_v1_5_assembly.html#testing And yes that should be a clean square wave as long as you have set the correct jumper: http://jbperf.com/JimStim/JimStim_v2_0_Wh...

Re: My TIOx setup with 3d printed box.

Thank you for all the details. The links don't work for me (it seems to be for an app?) but I can go to the banggood web site and use your description for each item.

If you have pictures of the whole setup in place and overall pictures of the car, I'd be interested in seeing them.

If the dual VR board is inside the ECU case then you can connect the output directly to JS10.

Re: CAN-EGT AFR serial setup

There are 2 things wrong with this: first, the CAN Id for the CAN-EGT is 1 and second the offset for v0.1.5 (and v0.1.4) is 18. Please post something on the msextra forum about this because I seem to be unable to get them to correct things. I will still send them an email regarding this but a post f...

Re: CAN-EGT AFR serial setup

The only thing I was talking about was the use of CAN broadcasting from the CAN-EGT. And since you're using the DIYAutotune CAN-EGT, you should have posted on the msextra forum in the expansion boards section. Having said that, if you are using 1.5.1 and want to continue with that version then there...

Re: Oil temp input circuit

0.5W is more than enough; even 0.125W (1/8 W) would be more than enough. The only disadvantage to using the 0.5W is that it will be much bigger than the lower rated ones. The needed power rating is computed by V*V/R (where V is the maximum voltage (5V) and R is the resistance) so 5*5/1000 = 0.025W. ...

Re: Oil temp input circuit

The circuit is fine but the value for R2 is quite low. That may be good for precision at higher temperature but that will draw a relatively high current which is not desirable. I would not go lower than 1k. The other components are fine but since this is not something that will change quickly, you c...

Re: Question about vr output 1

The old V2.0 board only has a 12V version. And if you do not have anything connected to the VR+ and VR- inputs then it is normal to see 5V on the output.

Re: Help CAN-EGT Firmware Update

That's the signature you get when it is in bootloader mode and not in normal running mode. TunerStudio does not know what to do with it and the CAN-EGT will only be ready to update the firmware in that mode. If you did not have the bootloader jumper in place when you saw this there is a problem. If ...
