Re: data drop with 3x tinyiox and ms3pro module v1.5x?

Try datalogging the raw data (which is what I think you meant in your first post by disabling the cal).

Re: data drop with 3x tinyiox and ms3pro module v1.5x?

I don't know how all your TIOx and sensors are connected but that seems like a strange thing to have because I would expect any comm issue to have missing data that would simply continue with the last read value not a drop to 0. Is it possible that you have an intermittent 5V power outage to the bia...

Re: LS1 trigger issue

You have a wrong configuration on the primary trigger. You have a wire jumper going from the primary header to the 19-pin header (grey wire) and the jumper for a VR emulation. Remove the grey wire jumper and keep the jumper for the VR emulator if you need a VR signal or move it if you need a square ...

Re: TinyIOx CAN ADC assignment

Yes. Longer answer is that the MS3 internal numbering is independent from the TIOx numbering so, as long as you remember you own settings, there is no impact to use different numbers. Looking at your picture, I assume you have changed the TIOx CAN Id from the default 4 to 2. If you simply move your ...

Re: How to change Can ID for TinyIOx?

Use the port scanner: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1282

Connect only one TIOx to the CAN bus then run the port scanner and change the CAN ID. You can then connect the other one with the default CAN ID to the CAN bus. You can also use the serial port to do that.

Re: Help CAN-EGT Firmware Update

Good to see you got it working.

TunerStudio is a bit more finicky with CAN Id changes than it was before. You really need to go to the project properties when you change the CAN ID to make sure that it will use the correct one.

Re: Help CAN-EGT Firmware Update

I checked the debug log and it says it's trying to use CAN Id 2 which is not the default value. Have you changed this? If you have, you need to go in the project properties and go to the CAN device tab and make sure that the main controller CAN ID is set to the correct value and click ok. If you hav...

Re: Help CAN-EGT Firmware Update

That explains why you don't have the v0.1.5 firmware but it's still strange to have the v0.1.3 firmware. You do get a different error from what you had before. I don't have any issues here on my setup using your project so I can only assume that it is coming from your serial comm connection. One thi...

Re: Help CAN-EGT Firmware Update

One more thing. When did you purchase this unit? From what you say, it came with the v0.1.3 firmware installed. But you had the v0.1.4 ini file? This looks wrong and it should have had the v0.1.5 firmware and ini. I'm not saying that you did something wrong but that the unit was not set with the lat...

Re: Help CAN-EGT Firmware Update

There is a bug with the old firmware when using the serial port. You need to use the v0.1.5 firmware. Your project is fine otherwise.

EDIT: Please send a message to DIYAutotune / AMPEFI so that they update their web site. I have already sent them this update a while ago.

Do you have the DIYAutotune CAN-EGT or my version? And which firmware did you use for the upgrade? Also, please post your TunerStudio project.

Re: Jeep RENIX differential mag crank sensor signal

From what you describe, that's not really a floating zero-crossing signal but rather a signal that needs to cross some bias voltage value. The JimStim will generate a zero-crossing signal which is why you can use ground as VR- because that's the zero reference. Without knowing what the detection cir...

Re: Just to verify stim setup

You mean OUT2? If there is no current limiting resistor to 5V or ground on the output, it is possible that this could cause a failure. But I'm not sure that this would happen if JS10 was set as an output.

Re: Just to verify stim setup

I assume you already have corrected that. It would have been useful to get a picture of that. All boards are tested before shipping so I know that it was not open when shipped. Is it possible that a solder iron just touched the blob at some point?

Re: Just to verify stim setup

Yes, the solder jumper (solder blob) on the back of the board is used to connect the 5V pad to the rest of the board.

Re: Just to verify stim setup

Use a LED without a resistor between the OUT pad on the dual VR board and ground to get a visual indication. The output on the dual VR board has a 4.7k pull up to 5V. That also means that without any input connection, you should see 5V on the outputs.

Re: Just to verify stim setup

Yes, that's what it should be. Make sure that the jumpers are correctly set and that the capacitor for the VR emulation is correctly soldered on the JimStim. You can also try using VR- with the tach signal and grounding VR+. One way to check the board is to use the 12V pull up and the square wave ju...
