peak and hold board

Postby racerron » Tue Mar 08, 2016 9:45 am

hey jean. i guess call me non educated. looking at this. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=493 i realize that i also made a mistake. i bought the 1.1 p&h board for my ms3x. im installing it in a cut down mega squirt 1 box because you don't need all that room for two little boards (eight injectors). so at this point do you think it would be better to build eight of those inverted circuits (which i don't understand why you need those) or buy the 2.0 boards and be done with it. if i understand right you should only buy the 1.1 p&h board if you are installing it in the ms3x box. right?

The 1.1 board needs a 5V supply and a 5V injector signal. The 2.0.1 board is power by 12V and used grounding injector signals. So the 2.0.1 can be easily connected to an ECU as it uses the standard injector output signal and 12V while the 1.1 uses the injector signals from the CPU in the ECU and 5V from the ECU main board.

Having said that, some have used the 1.1 externally but you do need to provide the 5V supply and the inverter circuits to transform the grounding injector output into a 5V signal. That's basically what the 2.0.1 board does.

So if you are comfortable with assembling the inverter circuits, you can use the 1.1 board. You will have the same thing you would with the 2.0.1 but in a different package.

thanks for the reply Jean in that case I think I'm just going to order two of those 2.0 .1 boards. can i order those already assembled or unassembled. and another question with two boards in one enclosure how large would that enclosure be?

I have another question jean. when the signal comes out of the peak and hold board. is that signal a trigger to ground or is it supplying a positive voltage to the injectors?

The V2.0.1 kit comes with its own enclosure and you can only put one board per enclosure. So for 8 injectors, you have 2 boxes with each one being 120x54x23 mm (4.72"x2.13"x0.91"). And I only sell kits not fully assembled units.

The signal to the injectors is a grounding signal. So you need to wire a fused 12V source directly to the injectors.
