MS2/Extra 3.57 DB15 P&H v1.1 wiring

Postby jsdevel » Wed Nov 30, 2016 3:30 am

On my 3.57 PCB board DB15 pins 1 and 2 are ground with pin 8 5V. I plan on using 4 of the other pins for injectors (INJ1, INJ2, INJ3, and INJ4 of the P&H board).

I have a couple of questions:

  1. What should I do with pins 1 and 2 on DB15? Should they ground at the engine? Being that DB37 has several grounded to the engine, why would I need to ground DB15 at the engine as well?
  2. What should I do with DB15 pin 8? Can I use the 5V for analog sensors and such?
  3. If INJ1-4 of the P&H board are switched grounds, do I need to beef up the DB15 connections with resistor legs? What gauge wiring would be adequate between the P&H board and the DB15?
  4. Where should IGND1-4 go? Can they be grounded anywhere on the 3.57 PC board?

1, 2: Don't do anything with these unless you want to power an external sensor or device. Then you use the 5V pin as the supply and the ground pins as the sensor/device ground. Don't externally ground the pins as this will create a ground loop.

3: the DB15 pins should be fine for INJ1-4. And 20 gauge (or larger) will be fine.

4: Use 2 to 4 DB15 pins for IGND1-4. And do not connect them to the 3.57 board (other than to the DB15) but ground those DB15 pins externally to the engine.
