shut down over 800 RPM

Postby markvwguy » Fri May 06, 2016 10:09 am

When I try to increase RPM everything shuts down at over 800RPM. Just around 800ish the RPM will bounce wildly all over the place. up to 3600,1500,2000 and shut down. FP,INJ1,INJ2,FIDL, and ignition led# 1 (primary trigger) shut down.

The ignition LEDs jimstim (pin36 and SPR4/pin6) flash at different brightness. As RPM increases trigger1 pulse width goes solid while 2nd trigger LED continues flashing faster until all LEDs shut down and only 2nd trigger is flashing. LED 1 (primary trigger) flashes faster than LED2 (2nd trigger)

I have had this ECU since 2006? put almost 10,000 miles in it. I recently purchased the JimStim v1.5 from DIY. I want to move to MS2 I have the daughter board, but too afraid to make the up grade until I get MS1 working correctly with the JimStim.

Using JimStim v1.5 v2.0.4chip. set 36-1 wheel inverted signal , MS1 v3.0 board setup for generic wheel dual coil direct drive.

I don't feel as I am explaining the problem very well. Any insight would be helpful.

Thank you,
Mark

Check what you get in a composite log. If you have not tried to adjust R52 and R56 (trim pots) on your MS, there's a good chance that this is the issue.
