Fuel only?

Postby JIrons » Mon Nov 07, 2016 3:37 pm

Does the stim need to be setup different with ms3 setup for fuel only? ie. Jumpers, dip switch, wheel mode, config, etc.

No, it does not make any difference.

The only issue is if you have the tach input circuit on your MS3 board set to read from the coil negative side, you may need to temporarily bypass some components in the circuit since the JimStim won't generate the high voltage.

What voltage does the stim generate for rpm? Out of pin 24 I'm assuming.

It depends on the pull up jumper you use: http://www.jbperf.com/JimStim/JimStim_v ... .html#tach

I'm sorry I didn't ask that question properly. If I have a jumper for a 12-volt pull up installed shouldn't I be getting a 12-volt signal out of pin 24 by testing it with my multimeter? What would the voltage range be with adjusting the rpm pot?

You're going to have 12V pulses. The voltage you will see on a multimeter will depend on the duty cycle of the signal and on the meter itself. The only way to see the actual signal and its voltage is with an oscilloscope.
