Availability?

Postby Rick Finsta » Fri Nov 18, 2016 12:12 pm

You have ordering disabled for these on the website; any idea on availability? I'm looking at getting a COP setup wired in sometime next year so no big rush. I was just working on my cam signal setup and was choosing between a Hall and VR; VR is easier but I need a conditioning circuit.

Jean-

Funny enough after reading that I'd need protective circuits to use JS10/JS11 if this was mounted externally, I ended up mounting it inside the case anyways so I guess I could have bought a 5V version...

Well, I'm a little confused on wiring after reading a few other posts. Right now, I've got it wired like this:

12V to Proto Area 12V
GND to Proto Area GND
Out 1 to JS10
Out 2 to JS11
VR1+ to IGN (access to PIN 36)
VR1- to SPR4
VR2+ to SPR2
VR2- to SPR1

I was reading another thread where it sounded like I could connect the two VR- together somehow and only use one I/O pin? If this is the case, it would be helpful as I'd like to free up another pin on the DB37 if possible.

No, you want the VR1- connected to the first VR sensor only and VR2- connected to the second VR sensor only. So each VR sensor has 2 wires and they need to be connected to VR+ and VR- only. Do not ground the sensor on either wire.

Thanks, Jean. That is what I thought based on my understanding of how VR sensors work but I was a bit confused by the other thread.

I'm pretty excited to get traction control running!
