6 and 8 cylinders

Postby valenciano » Thu Jan 03, 2013 9:51 am

I'm wondering if the board could be used in engines 6 and 8 cylinders like stray spark, but the injectors.

To Jean ever tried this?

If you're using wasted spark coils then you can connect 2 injectors per driver and run a 6 or 8 cylinder engine.

Using a sequential power 6-cylinder engine, the injectors would function in three banks?.

I know I could try on the stimulator, but surely you know it.

That won't work with sequential. You would need to run semi-sequential with 3 outputs.

When you say semi-sequential, you mean alternating and wasted spark, with a setting of 6 or 8 cylinder?

MS2 and 3 banks injection would do with this setup?

No I mean semi-sequential. In the sequential injection menu, you need to select sequential/semi-sequential; with a 6-cylinder that will result in semi-sequential injection that uses 3 outputs.

You could run bank injection with 3 outputs but that will have 4 injectors (2 drivers) going at the same time with the other 2 (one driver) alternating. Try on the stim to see what I mean.

I think he means to operate in sequential mode and instead of doing sequential ignition, do wasted spark, I understand that the injectors would function like the ignition.

the way you put before me seems strange to function.

Jean ok, responded at once, now I think if I understood you correctly.

I try and answer you tomorrow.

Thank you, David.

Hi Jean, and been testing in the stimulator, put 6 cylinder sequential ignition signal and if I have the 6 coils, plus the injection works in semi-sequential.

Do you can confirm?

What I do not get it to work is staged injection, believed that one could use in semi-sequential, using bank 1 and 2 with 3 injectors each, 3 and 4 as auxiliaries.

Yes semi-sequential injection and COPs work for a 6-cylinder engine. And staged injection should work but there seems to be a problem with the code that I will need to check.

However, remember that semi-sequential and staged injection on a 6 cylinder engine means that there will be 3 squirts per cycle. If you have big injectors, that may be a problem.

If I understand that, but is a turbocharged and probably need another ramp injectors for high load, a low flow for low load and other high flow high loads.

What I have to do in the code to work?, It gives me error says it only works on simultaneous, but still, only works as if working in normal injection.

There is a bug in the code and I need to check what it is and how to correct it. I don't know yet what the problem is.

Please post a quick message on the msextra forum that semi-sequential and staged injection doesn't work on a 6-cylinder engine. Since this is an MS2/Extra code problem, I want to have something there to do the follow up and for it to be visible to everyone using the code.

OK Jean, I put in MS2 Extra.

Departures must put two more power on your plate jejeje, just kidding, I'll put on the heat sink. ;)
