Newb question about R37/R38

Postby TexasVW » Sat Feb 01, 2014 8:00 pm

Hello, I'm in the middle of my first MS build and I think I've got most things figured out. In the MSExtra build instructions, it says to link a wire across the pads (Step 22) if you leave out R37 and R38. Is this still required to use the 4 channel driver board?

Welcome to the forum!

No it's not needed since you won't be using the V3.0 injector drivers. Actually, you can leave out all the injector driver components (which will leave the heat sink almost empty as well as a good portion of the board).

Thanks for the quick reply.

If you don't mind, another question please. If I run a wasted spark setup in the future, but keep sequential injection, what mods are necessary?

If you want to run wasted spark, you need to connect 2 ignition drivers per channel. That would mean you would connect 2 ignition driver to spark A and 2 to spark B (refer to this to know where spark A and B are located).

For sequential injection, you need to do the modifications shown on my site: http://www.jbperf.com/sequential/index.html#ms2mods. You also need a cam sensor.
